In Montreal and it's surroundings, there are more than 60,000 dogs euthanasied each year. Of this number, 44,000 are under the age of 2. These statistics can make you jump. Well not me!! The lack of information and the influence of our consumer society lead to terrible mistakes. People often find themselves with a breed that is inappropriate for them. Others often realize that a dog is note the ideal family pet
Why do you want a dog
How much time can you give to your dog? Ex: for obedience, cleaness training, daily exercise, play, grooming and general maintenance
What are the costs related to owning a dog? Ex: veterinarian, grooming, obedience lessons.
What do you really expect from a dog?
Do you have resourceful people to help you? Ex: breeders, trainers, club and associations
These questions can seem irrevelant at first but they are extremely important. If you decide to own a Bouvier, your decision shouldn't be taken impulsively
.
We meet more and more people who realize that their dog doesn't really have a place in their life. Again, we see dogs who develop inadequate and unbalance behavior because they have been
misguided through their first months.
What happens to these dogs? Too often they end up in refuges such as the Local Shelters, Rescue Organisations, Very few find a new home!!.
The Bouvier des Flandres is no exception. Therefore, it is important to be franc, honest, to make a consciuos decision and to assume the responsabilities for taking this decision.
Thanks to all who have a Bouvier in their life and who take great care of them
